The Environmental Services Technician Educator/Trainer acts as the subject matter expert in healthcare cleaning of patient rooms, procedural areas, exam rooms and hospital department specific cleaning techniques, tools and processes in accordance with CMHS quality standards, as well as local, state and federal regulations. Communicates, explains, and demonstrates skills and abilities to new or existing EVS Technicians ensuring understanding and quality outcomes in the cleaning and disinfecting process. Demonstrates and communicates proper disposal of hazardous waste to include biohazardous waste, sharps waste, pharmaceutical waste, chemo waste, RCRA waste, recycle , compost and landfill waste. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required, Associate’s Degree preferred. Minimum of one (1) year previous healthcare EVS experience required. Must be able to speak, read and write documents in English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Must understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS), pertaining to use and handling of chemicals. Department of Transportation (DOT) Certification or obtains within 6 months required. Previous experience in Healthcare EVS training preferred.
