Provides safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care services in the preoperative and postoperative setting, under the supervision of the licensed nurse. Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with hospital practice and policy. Obtains and records vital signs, including height and weight. Assists patients with mobility- turn and positioning, ambulation and transferring patients to and from wheelchairs and gurneys. Provides necessary information to licensed nurse for patient care documentation. Participates in seeking educational resources related to job performance. Demonstrates knowledge of life safety and patient safety practices. Maintains par levels of supplies and demonstrates knowledge of inventory management in conjunction with departmental budget. Reports, labels, and takes out of commission any unsafe equipment, keeps hallways clear, places stock into inventory, keeps patient rooms clean and stocked.
High school Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Current CPR certification required. Basic computer skills and email knowledge required. Minimum one year of healthcare experience required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, knowledge of medical terminology and bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
