Responsibilities

The EEG Technologist prepares patients for and conducts electroencephalograms to measure electrical activity of brain waves.  Conducts evoked potential response tests for use in diagnosis of brain and nervous system disorders.  Collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the test and prepares summary of tests.  Assists with the maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

Credential in electroencephalography by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (ABRET) (R. EGG T) required.  Minimum one (1) year of experience in the performance of EEG procedures in a patient care environment required.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.  Prior experience preparing and conducting standard electromyographic tests and performing 12-lead electrocardiograms preferred.  Must be able to take "call".
