Prepares soups, meats, vegetables, salads, dressings, and desserts for consumption by employees and visitors in cafeteria, as well as specific diets for patients in hospital.  Monitors Food Quality and maintains cooking schedule.  Complies with Sanitation Standards.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.   Minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good working knowledge of basic cooking techniques.  Knowledge of food storage, usage, and sanitation requirements. Must be able to set daily priorities and work independently and as a team member.  Basic knowledge of institutional cooking equipment.  Ability to read and write and follow written and oral instructions in English.   Ability to participate in staff development training and quality control.  Serve Safe Food Training Certificate is preferred.
