Plans, directs, supervises, and coordinates radiology or diagnostic imaging services and activities at CMH and OVCH. Ensures optimum patient care is provided by qualified personnel in accordance with the mission of the Health System. Evaluates performance of all personnel and coordinates Performance Improvement programs for the department. Assigns, schedules, and reviews the work of medical imaging and related staff to maintain patient flow, achieve production goals, and conform to established protocols and procedures. Confers with medical staff and technologist concerning medical imaging techniques and procedures. Oversees staff in operation of imaging equipment such as x-ray machines, sonography equipment, fluoroscope, CT (computerized tomography) scanner, or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) equipment, evaluates accuracy and quality of images, and provides technical assistance. Demonstrates new techniques, equipment, and procedures to staff. Evaluates training program for medical imaging staff and conducts and arranges for training as appropriate. Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment. Prepares and administers budget for imaging services. Plans, directs, and monitors quality assurance program to conform to federal, states, local and hospital regulations and guidelines. Reviews current literature and attends meetings and seminars to keep informed of new developments in filed.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred. Current CA Radiology License required. Minimum of five (5) years management experience required.
