Performs clerical duties in the Critical Care area and provides general care to critical care patients under the supervision of the registered nurse. Accurate and timely documentation consistent with hospital practice and policy. Provides necessary information to licensed nurse for patient care documentation. Maintains par levels of supplies and demonstrates knowledge of inventory management in conjunction with departmental budget. Provides care within the scope of practice while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality. Relates patient status to licensed nurse as needed. Assists patients with their mobility - turn and positioning, range of motion exercises, transferring patients to and from wheelchair, assist with ambulation, activities of daily living (Eating, bathing, toileting, oral care, etc.), vital signs, blood glucose monitoring and obtaining patient’s weight and height. Responsible for Linen changes and keeping patient rooms clean and neat. Responds to communication devices within their scope of practice. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of six (6) months related experience and/or training required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
