Prepares and stores hospital supplies, surgical instruments, and equipment by performing the following duties: Prepares packs of supplies, instruments and dressing and treatment trays, according to designated lists or codes, and wraps, labels, and seals packs. Maintains sterile supplies on shelves. Delivers sterile and other supplies to hospital departments. Operates repairs or adjusts minor equipment. Stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. Fills requisitions, ensures charge slips are placed on supplies, charges and inventories supplies. Prepares supplies and charges for resale to physicians. Maintains charges to ensure follow-up on physician's accounts. Orders special and stock items with approval from Central Services Supervisor. Participates in and supports the departmental performance improvement process. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
High school diploma or GED is required. Minimum of three months related experience and/or training. One year recent experience in an acute care hospital is preferred. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
