Provides safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care services under the supervision and direction of a licensed physician and nurse in performing various duties in the Clinic setting. The Medical Assistant will perform the routine tasks needed to care for patients within the Centers for Family Health. Performs patient testing and vitals including blood pressure, height/weight, temperature, head circumference and body length measurements, and records these accurately in the patient’s record. Understands correct response to emergencies. Ensures standard precautions are followed at all times. Reports to supervisor any and all safety concerns and incidents. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a medical assistant training program required. Currently certified as a Medical Assistant by a recognized certifying organization or eligible to sit for exam within 30 days of hire required. Acceptable certifications are CMA, CCMA, NCMA, RMT, AAMA ABROE. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Bilingual in Spanish and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
