Under general supervision, responds to all microcomputer and computer network related technical matters to ensure that microcomputer resources are maintained at appropriate service levels; and performs other related duties as required. Provides and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction to all microcomputer users. Evaluates, recommends, and implements various high quality software and hardware solutions to meet user needs while maintaining low recidivism repair rate. Provides appropriate training dependent upon the needs of the microcomputer user concerning hardware utilization or for resolution of special problems. Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards as may apply. Performs a variety of technical tasks in the diagnosis, repair, maintenance and installation of microcomputers, remote job entry stations, keypunch machines and/or related equipment to support the computer hardware needs of a department or division. Inspects malfunctioning microcomputer or components; analyzes cause and plans repair procedures; establishes a schedule of preventive maintenance to ensure optimum performance of equipment. Installs and assembles terminal equipment in cluster usage areas and departmental offices as needed ensuring terminal equipment is secured properly. Performs other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Training in micro-computer systems required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows-based microcomputers and peripheral devices, supporting and troubleshooting networked printers, faxes, and copiers and supporting and troubleshooting mobile devices and Voice Over IP (VOIP) phone systems required. A+, Network+ and Security+ Certified preferred. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) preferred.
