    Provides specialized nursing care to obstetrical patients before, during, and after labor and delivery.  Effectively plans and communicates patient and family education.  Participates in unit based educational activities.  Accurately and timely documentation consistent with practice and hospital policy.  Participates in various aspects the departments on-going quality improvement activities.  Performs other duties as assigned.


    Current CA Registered Nurse License required.  Requires six (6) months of recent full-time L&D.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.  Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) class required within 6 months of hire.  Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required within 3 months of hire.   Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) and two (2) years L&D experience preferred.  Acute hospital experience, bilingual in Spanish, RNC-OB- Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics and/or Electronic Fetal Monitoring preferred.
