Provides general nursing care to patients in hospital by performing the following duties; effectively plan and communicate patient and family education. Participates in unit based educational activities. Accurate and timely documentation consistent with practice and hospital policy. Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and apprehension.
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, BSN preferred. Current CA RN License, ACLS & BLS certification is required. Minimum six (6) months of recent full-time acute care experience in an acute care hospital required. Successful completion of Stroke/Sepsis Education competency within 6 months of hire required. Minimum one (1) year previous Medical Surgical or Telemetry experience preferred. Certification for Progressive Care Nurse (PCCN) and knowledge of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) preferred.
