    Performs standard and advanced neurophysiologic procedures on outpatient and inpatients.  Performs quality recordings by collecting pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient using age-specific criteria, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for physician interpretation.  Informs physician of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording.  Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.  Actively supports and participates in department and hospital quality improvement initiatives as directed.  Serves as a resource for other physiology technicians, nurses, students, patients, and physicians.  Responsible for training and educational development of new and current physiology staff. Communicates with manager of problems or potential problems.   Ensures proper diagnostic and diagnosis coding is used for accurate billing.


    High School Diploma or GED required.  Minimum of six month experience in the performance of EEG procedures required.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required. Credential in electroencephalography by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists, Inc. (ABRET) (R. EGG T) preferred.
