The Sterile Processing Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and supervising the operation of the staff and department services for CMHS. Oversees all sterilization and decontamination services to patient care departments at (CMH, CFH and OVCH) including receiving, issuing instrumentation and soft goods. Provides for and encourages staff participation in programs for in-service education to stimulate interest and promote growth and development, continually works on staff training onsite at CMH,CFH and OVCH. Demonstrates proper procedures and knowledge of inspection, assembly, and care of instruments and instrument sets. Abides by CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and AAMI guidelines and recommendations of infection control committee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Sterile Processing required. IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification required. Previous supervisory or management experience required. Five (5) years’ experience managing a multi-disciplinary staff of professionals in a complex organizational structure, previous management experience and National Materials Management Certificate (AHRNM) preferred.
