    Ojai Valley Community Hospital, an affiliate of Community Memorial Hospital, is a 25 bed general acute care facility designated as a Critical Access Hospital with a distinct part 66 bed skilled nursing facility. OVCH provides inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing services for mostly primary and secondary care needs.  In addition we operate a 24-hour standby emergency department.

    Responsibilities

    Job Description:

    • Compiles, reconciles and analyzes financial information in the preparation of journal entries and account analysis.
    • Records expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to generally accounting principles and company policy.
    • Performs analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and reports findings to supervisors.
    • Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize company financial position.
    • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
    • Reviews, researches, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
    • Makes recommendations for process improvement in assigned tasks.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelors degree with major in accounting or related field
    • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus

    Experience:

    • Minimum of three years in a business office setting with emphasis in financial analysis and reporting
    • Healthcare industry background and public accounting experience preferred but not required

    Skills/Competencies:

    • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven department
    • Intermediate knowledge of MS-Excel
    • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to self-check and submit accurate work product
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to understand business workflows on assigned tasks
