Ojai Valley Community Hospital, an affiliate of Community Memorial Hospital, is a 25 bed general acute care facility designated as a Critical Access Hospital with a distinct part 66 bed skilled nursing facility. OVCH provides inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing services for mostly primary and secondary care needs. In addition we operate a 24-hour standby emergency department.

Lab Technical Assistant - One (1) Full-Time 8-Hour Variable Shifts Position Available
Assists licensed laboratory personnel in performing requested clinical procedures. Performs hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and microbiology procedures. Maintains supplies and performs clerical functions including registering and processing patient orders. Performs instrument maintenance as required. Effectively deals with peers and hospital personnel. Obtains all required specimens from inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Patient safety and identification protocols kept in high priority. Maintains a safe working environment in assigned area. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains strict patient confidentiality and recognizes age-specific criteria. May be required to act as lead assistant in drawing areas and central processing.
High school Diploma or equivalent General Education Degree (GED)
Current California Phlebotomy License (CPT) or Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Technician Program (MLT)
Current BL certification and Driving License
Current and ongoing Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) that is considered insurable under the CMHS insurance coverages
Minimum of six (6) months recent hospital experience
