    Responsibilities

    Clinical Nurse Supervisor - (1) Full-Time 8-Hour Variable Shift Position Available 

     

    Position Overview: 

    Oversees and coordinates the quality of patient care in a specific hospital unit(s), by providing oversight of nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the unit through staffing/scheduling oversight and direct observation of patient care activities by the nursing staff. The Clinical Nurse Supervisor reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities: 

    The position has oversight for all Nurses, Nurse Technicians, and Unit Secretaries in assigned department. 

     

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operation of the unit(s):

    • Selects, schedules, assigns and evaluates staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary to meet hospital/department needs
    • Participates in the interview process for hiring new employees
    • Participates in personnel management
    • Oversees the orientation of new staff and assures that training and education needs of entire staff are met.
    • Patient care at the point of care: hours determined by need/Nursing Management

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent experience in Nursing
    • Current CA Registered Nurse License
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
    • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Telemetry only)
    • Three (3) year’s staff nurse experience in an acute care setting

     

    Preferred:

    • Master’s degree in a health related field
    • Nurse Supervisor/Nurse Manager experience
