    Responsibilities

    Manager of Engineering - One Full-Time Exempt Position

     

    Position Overview

    This position is responsible for engineering and maintenance operations, to ensure a safe, efficient and effective delivery of services to patients, staff and other building occupants in a hospital/healthcare setting.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Directly supervises maintenance engineers and plant operators.
    • Manages the TMS maintenance system ensuring all work requests are entered, assigned and completed in a timely and quality manner.
    • Conducts performance evaluations, counsels and coaches employees, administers disciplinary actions if required, keeps the Director of Facilities abreast of any personnel issues, and consults with the Director of Facilities on hiring and disciplinary recommendations.
    • Conducts staff meetings/huddles to support the execution of departmental expectations and responsibilities.
    • Manages and approves time off requests, while maintaining department coverage.
    • Schedules training time for engineers; performs on the job training as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in engineering, operations, maintenance of hospitals and/or medical office buildings.
    • Strong HVAC and electrical background.
    • Current knowledge of local, state and federal codes and regulations.
    • Must maintain composure under stressful or emergency situations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience with construction management, Fire/Life Safety systems and BMS/EMS.  
    • Ability to read plans and blueprints.
    • Proficient PC Skills

    • Familiar with Energy Management Systems, Fire Alarm Systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
